Some years ago I received an  invitation to join on an exemplary adventure. All I had to do was follow the cloaked army to King’s cross and take a train from platform 9 3/4.

‘Codswallop’ like any muggle I thought. ‘Wizards, witches, a sorting hat, a three-headed dog with a mushy name called fluffy, a Norwegian ridgeback dragon, and a thousand incomprehensible things, only calls for a catastrophic time.’ and everything seemed extravagantly sorcerous, so I decided to let go of that steam train to Hogwarts.

Years roll by alongside the passing seasons, and I see everything that might seem absurd to the magical folk. Absurd, even to a muggle. And I wonder if I could get a sneak-peek into their world?  I wonder if the Hogwarts’ train still trudges towards that unfathomable land? 

A great beetle-eyed giant knocks on my brainbox and says, “C,mon, follow me – already? How long are ye gonna wail around here? And mind yer step and remember with great books and an incre’ble adventure, it’s never too late.”

So I smile like never before and follow the giant to Diagon alley, where he orders me to search for a witch called Joanne. 

According to scuttlebutt owls, that emerge from nowhere to everywhere,  only she knows a spell or hundreds that could send a muggle spiralling inside the portable magic world. So without wasting any more time, I dart across the twirling alleys when a hand grasps me from behind and a wizened voice speaks:

“Son, it does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”

And I know for sure this time, an incredible adventure is about to begin. . .
