THE FIGHTER

Of dreams, for better or worse,

Decaying feelings must be expressed in words;

A fleeting desire that no one else could have,

Intertwining shadows stare my avant-garde vows.

While I butcher every superfluous emotion,

Stuck in a void between ideals and reality,

And remnants are unfettered dreams,

Maybe that’s me or a delusion of false fantasy?

Although my limbs are bound

By manacles of hope and optimism,

I’ve a soul that yearns for more;

Of truth that may bring everlasting pain.

Trembling fear, walking the neverending road

Is my shadow still following me?

But I’m not so frail to succumb

In those gloomy roads of depression,

I shall walk the untraveled, for I am

The conjurer who embraced the loneliness. . .
